Fred Lind Manor is dazzling with merriment and glad tidings this holiday season.  Thanks to all the friends and family that attended our marvelous feast!  Kim and her culinary crew designed a Christmas dinner that was a real crowd-pleaser.  The salmon and prime rib received rave reviews while the eggnog punch brought smiles to many.  Every year we are reminded that the spirit of the holidays will come alive when friends, families, and communities gather together in simple celebration.  Thank you for all that attended!  Check out our Facebook page to spot your family photo!

The sun came out just in time for the Fred Lind Manor BBQ and Jazz Festival.  Mouths were watering as grill-master Marcel prepared steaks cooked to order along with fall-off-the-bone ribs.  Jazzbestos set the tone for a delightful afternoon filled with Pasty Cline, Frank Sinatra, and all the heart-warming classics.  Don’t miss our next backyard BBQ, August 31, from 12-2 pm. 

The residents of Fred Lind Manor enjoyed a summer day in Seattle fishing on the lake.  While there were many ‘a fish story exchanged as they baited their hooks and cast their lines, they did not come home empty handed.  John and Dee caught multiple perch and Harry reeled in a trout.  “This is good eatin’ fish,” Harry exclaimed as he held the trout up for a photograph.  Harry brought his catch back home to Fred Lind and had our chef fry it up for supper!

The residents of Fred Lind Manor are excited to transform their Capitol Hill alleyway into a fruitful pea patch!  Thanks to the craftsmanship of our activities coordinator Denis and maintenance supervisor Chris, the Fred Lind Manor gardening coop can now sow their seeds in a senior-friendly planter box on wheels.  This raised bed is handicap accessible and allows residents to easily work the soil from a chair.  Residents are certainly excited!  Just ask Art, a retired avocado grove farmer from San Diego, “I needed a place where I could get my hands dirty.”  Art is planting a tomato crop as well as an herb garden.  We look forward to updating you on our yields as the Seattle summer sets in.

You are invited to experience the charm of the good ole days – stop by our classic lemonade stand and tomato plant sale just outside Fred Lind Manor.

Fred Lind Manor and Jones Creek Farms are teaming up to offer our neighbors some old-fashioned hospitality. Sip on a complimentary glass of strawberry lemonade while you pick out the perfect tomato start from a local selection of organically grown, heirloom tomato plants. Jones Creek Farms of Skagit Valley is renown for cultivating healthy and sturdy tomato starts that do well in the Pacific Northwest climate.

Fred Lind Manor is a not-for-profit organization, so we offer extremely affordable rates that even include many of our numerous amenities and services.

Our monthly suite rates include local phone service, cable television, utilities, community laundry facility access, three nutritious meals daily in our beautiful dining room, and even housekeeping and linen service.

You’ll even have access to transportation in our retirement home Seattle community. Our shuttle service can zip you to local spots like K-Mart, Snoqualmie Falls, Safeway, Alki Beach, Fred Meyer, casino lunches, and more. You can even sit back and relax while our shuttle takes you to and from doctor’s appointments within a five mile radius.

Our retirement home Seattle is a vibrant community, and our busy activities director Denis always has something fun planned for our residents.
